Got 6+ hours between flights at Muscat International Airport? Don’t spend them in a terminal chair. Oman Taxi Pro runs a fixed-fare layover service built for exactly this: you land, we’re waiting outside arrivals, and you’re back at your gate with time to spare — no meter running, no surge pricing, no guessing what the fare will be when you get back.

Why book a taxi instead of an airport tour package?
A tour package sells you a fixed itinerary. A taxi fare from Oman Taxi Pro sells you the car and driver, and you decide the stops. If you only want the Grand Mosque and a quick bite before heading back, you’re not paying for a five-stop route you didn’t ask for. If you want to add stops, just tell your driver — the fare is for the vehicle and time, not per attraction.
How much does a layover taxi from Muscat Airport cost?
Fixed fare starts from OMR 50 per vehicle (about USD 130) for a half-day layover booking, fuel included, no hidden add-ons. We quote the exact fare on WhatsApp once you tell us your layover length, so you know the number before you land — not after the meter’s been running.
How do I pay — cash, card, or online?
All three. Oman Taxi Pro takes cash on arrival, card payment in the vehicle, and online payment via a secure link sent to your phone before or after the trip, so you can settle the fare without carrying OMR cash through the airport if you’d rather not.

Do I need a visa to leave the airport on a layover?
Most nationalities can enter Oman visa-free for stays of up to 14 days, which covers a same-day layover comfortably. Visa rules depend on your passport, so confirm your specific entry requirement before you fly. Message us your nationality and we’ll tell you what applies.
What kind of vehicle will I get?
Our standard layover fare uses a sedan or similar vehicle for up to 3 passengers with luggage space for a layover-sized bag. If you’re traveling as a group of 4 or more, or have full-size luggage, tell us when you book — we’ll quote you the larger-vehicle fare instead of surprising you with it at pickup.
Where does the driver pick me up?
Just outside the arrivals hall — your driver holds a sign with your name, so there’s no app to open and no rideshare pickup point to find. Clear immigration, grab your bag, and you’re in the car within minutes.
Where can a 6-7 hour layover taxi actually take me?
A typical run we do for layover passengers:
Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque — open to non-Muslim visitors 8:30–11:00, Saturday to Thursday, closed Fridays. If your layover lands outside that window or on a Friday, say so when you book and we’ll route you straight to the next stop. Dress code applies: shoulders, legs and hair covered for women; long trousers for men.
Mutrah Souq — 45 minutes to an hour is enough for the main covered alley: frankincense, silver, textiles. Skip the side alleys if you’re on a tight clock.
Al Alam Palace and the waterfront forts — exterior viewing only at the palace, 10-15 minutes for photos. Mirani and Jalali Forts can be viewed from outside free of charge; going inside costs OMR 8 per person if you want the interior access.
Royal Opera House Muscat — a quick photo stop on the way, worth the few minutes even without a scheduled show.
If your layover runs longer than 7 hours, tell us and we’ll add the Oman National Museum (budget one hour) or extend time at any stop you care about more.
Will the driver get me back in time for my flight?
The return leg is timed to your boarding time, not your flight’s scheduled departure, with a buffer built in for security and immigration on the way back in. If traffic runs long on the way back, your driver adjusts the route rather than cutting your sightseeing time short without telling you.

FAQ
What if my flight is delayed?
Message us as soon as you know your new timing. We adjust the pickup and shorten the route if needed to protect your return buffer — no extra charge for a delay that isn’t your fault.
Is the fare negotiable at pickup, or is it fixed?
Fixed. The fare we quote you on WhatsApp before you land is the fare you pay — no meter, no renegotiation at the car.
Can I pay in a currency other than OMR?
Payment is processed in OMR. We can tell you the approximate equivalent in USD, AED, GBP or other currencies on request, but the confirmed amount is settled in OMR.
Do I need to book in advance, or can I arrange this after landing?
Booking ahead on WhatsApp is strongly recommended so your driver is already waiting when you clear immigration. A same-day request after landing is possible but depends on driver availability at that moment.
Is this a shared taxi or private?
Private. The vehicle is yours for the full layover booking — no other passengers
